These things move us along.

Here are the things that help me continue. The words that make me think, the songs that make me feel, and the heart of who I am.

To be honest, I picked this up a few weeks ago because I’m starting to debate on going back to school to get a masters in Elementary Ed. I think it might be helpful on resumes, and possibly open up a chance to move. Anyway, a quick review.
Percy Jackson, your narrator, is a typical troubled kid. He has a propensity to cause problems, yet he means well. Unfortunately, he’s really bad at staying in any one school. Percy also suffers from dyslexia and ADHD. These all seem common place to him until he’s attacked by his math teacher on a field trip.
The book basically takes greek myths and welds them into a current story, with Percy (short for Perseus) running into all kinds of monsters and denizens of the world. My favorite has to be running into Procrustes, the stretcher. The guy sells frigging mattresses, but he stretches or chops apart customers if they’re taller/smaller than six feet. Priceless read. Pick it up.
